Do you ever find that just listening to your teacher is just boring and you cant get all the information you need because you just zone out? This constantly happens to me. Well when teachers use music or videos to teach it makes the class more interesting for me and even the other students. The website Flocabulary is a helpful website for teachers to use to teach to their students the concepts they need to learn. For me when teachers use music to help them teach it helps me a lot because if they use a song you hear all the time you're going to think about that school concept when you're listening to it. The only sad thing about this is that not all teachers would do this. This is because every kid in their life has that one teacher that never wants to have fun. I get music doesn't help all kids learn but for most kids it does. I know most of my friends like hearing music when they are learning. Music is all over the world and everyone just like us in America kids listen to it all the time. Music I guess is part of every ones lives and we listen to it all the time not matter what. I know I listen to it when I'm not suppose to but I listen to it when I'm taking notes and stuff but it helps me learn. This article basically states that if the student isn't engaged emotionally in the subject you're teaching they wont learn it and what's a good way to solve this problem.......music. Even the teacher that wrote the article says this is true because she used to not use music or videos but when she started to they saw a difference.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I know I always have useless song lyrics stuck in my head but can never remember vocabulary or something! If we could incorporate music into class I would be able to learn so much easier and probably remember more. It is a way to communicate better with the students. It would be so much easier for me if they turned learning into something that kids already understand. Music, I believe all classes need to put or incorporate music into their teachings.
